Our Story
How a team of lazy consultants accidentally built something useful
The Consultant Life
Picture this: We're management consultants. You know, the people who get paid to tell companies what they already know, but with PowerPoint slides and a 200% markup. We were living the dream—flying to client sites, staying in nice hotels, and pretending to understand their business better than they did.
But here's the thing about consulting: You're always playing catch-up. Every Monday morning, you'd walk into a client meeting and realize you had no idea what happened to their company over the weekend. Did they launch a new product? Did their CEO say something controversial on Twitter? Did their biggest competitor just announce a merger? Who knows! You're supposed to be the expert, but you're basically Googling their company name in the Uber on the way there.
The "Lazy" Epiphany
So there we were, one Sunday evening, frantically reading through 47 news articles about our client's industry, trying to sound smart in tomorrow's 8 AM meeting. We were exhausted. We were behind. And we had a thought that would change everything:
"Why can't AI do this?"
I mean, seriously. We're smart people (or at least we tell ourselves that), but we're spending hours every week doing something a computer could probably do better. We're reading news articles, summarizing them, and trying to figure out what matters. That's literally what AI was built for!
The Lightbulb Moment
But here's where it gets interesting. We didn't just want another news aggregator. We wanted something that understood what we actually needed: executive-level intelligence, not clickbait. We wanted it delivered in a way that fit our lifestyle—because let's be honest, we're not going to sit down and read a 20-page report. But we will listen to a podcast while we're stuck in traffic or on a flight.
So we built Apisod. An AI that reads everything about a company, figures out what actually matters to executives, and turns it into a podcast you can listen to anywhere. It's like having a junior analyst who never sleeps, never complains, and doesn't need health insurance.
Here We Are
Fast forward to today, and we've built something that we actually use ourselves. Every week, we get AI-generated podcasts about our clients, our competitors, and companies we're tracking. We listen to them during our commutes, on flights, or while we're pretending to work out.
The best part? We're not the only ones who need this. Consultants, investors, sales teams, executives—they're all in the same boat. They're all trying to stay informed without drowning in information. And they're all too busy (or too lazy, like us) to do it the old-fashioned way.
So here we are. A team of consultants who got tired of doing manual research and decided to automate ourselves out of a job. Except we didn't automate ourselves out of a job—we automated ourselves into a better one.
The Team
Former Consultants
We've worked at the big firms. We know the pain. We've been there, frantically reading news articles at 11 PM before a client meeting.
AI Enthusiasts
We're not AI experts, but we're good at asking "why can't AI do this?" and then finding people who can actually build it.
